Protecting Your Home from Fire
Home Fire Safety
Your home is your sanctuary, and it’s important to take steps to prevent fires from happening. Here are key safety tips to reduce the risk of fire:
- Install Smoke Alarms: Ensure smoke alarms are installed on every level of your home and in each bedroom. Test them monthly and replace batteries regularly.
- Create an Escape Plan: Develop a fire escape plan with your family. Identify two exits from each room, practice it regularly, and establish a safe meeting point outside.
- Keep Flammable Items Away: Keep items like curtains, bedding, and furniture at least three feet away from heating equipment such as space heaters and fireplaces.
